Getting Here
If you're driving from other Northeastern states to Machiasport, you basically have two routes to choose from (Canada is a different story!). Route 95 is the shortest of the two (by about 20 minutes) and will take you through inland Maine. It can be a lonely drive, especially as you head east of Bangor. But if you want to avoid crowds (which can sometimes make the coastal route much longer than planned), this is the route for you. Do watch for wildlife and occasional potholes. On the other hand, Route 1 is the coastal way and will take you through idyllic towns with lovely views of the ocean here and there along the way.
