Mike & Lori

When Mike, an anthropology professor, and Lori, a veterinarian, moved to Washington County, Maine, in the early 2000s with their two little boys, they searched everywhere for the perfect home. In the end, they decided to build it instead—an off-the-grid, cedar log home perched atop a wooded bluff overlooking the confluence of the Machias and East Machias Rivers—their Salt River Cottage. Now they live in Colorado and are thrilled to be able to offer others the chance to experience the raw beauty of Maine's Bold Coast and the authentic and generous spirits of its people.
